Dog-First Session Promise
Your dog’s well-being outranks every photo on my shot list. Here’s what that means on set:
Health & Safety First
I watch for stress signals (yawns, lip-licks, shake-offs). If I see them, we pause—water break, sniff break, whatever your pup needs.Trainer-Led Direction
As a certified trainer, I’ll coach you on handling, cues, and positioning. Please follow those directions; it keeps the session fun and safe. Ignoring guidance may end the shoot early without a refund.Gentle Gear Intro
New to camera clicks or studio lights? We’ll spend a few minutes counter-conditioning so your dog feels confident before we start shooting. No Judgment Zone
Reactivity, shyness, “big feelings”—all welcome. If we have to keep leashes on, I can usually edit those out of your final photos. If your dog isn’t coping after breaks, we’ll stop and reschedule or refund. I’ll point you to training resources at HeartlandHounds.com to set up a future win.Welfare > Work
The shot will never come before your dog’s comfort. That’s a guarantee.
Thanks for teaming up with me to keep every tail wagging throughout the process!

Year Round. Depending on your preferences, we will likely have session closer to sunrise or sunset. We will try to avoid harsh mid-day lighting (cloudy days are amazing!). During summer, sunrise sessions will have priority over sunset sessions due to long days.
Senior Stories
Gentle pacing, extra cuddles, no rush. Celebrate grey muzzles and wise eyes with images that honor a lifetime of love.

Starting at $100
I offer a special rate for senior stories. Your dog must be considered a senior for their breed ( 7+ years old on average) to qualify for this special rate.
I do not do “rainbow” photo shoots within the dog’s final days. I want to capture your senior dog in a way that gives you a great memory.

FAQs
-
While I specialize in dogs, I photograph other animals on a case-by-case basis. Request a booking and let’s have a call!
-
Nope! Wiggly pups, reactive “big-feelings” dogs, and slow-mo seniors are all welcome. As a certified trainer I’ll guide both you and your dog with positive-reinforcement handling and plenty of breaks.
-
Absolutely. Nearly every dog I photograph is leashed for safety; I edit leashes (and humans) out afterward so the final art looks carefree.
-
Your dog’s welfare beats every shot. We’ll pause, redirect, or reschedule at no charge if stress signals persist while you’re following my direction. Need extra prep? I’ll point you to resources at HeartlandHounds.com.
-
Client sessions run Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays only. Golden-hour (sunset) slots fill first, so inquire early.
Events/products can book select weekends or weekdays on request.
-
Based in Emporia, I travel across Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and Oklahoma. We’ll choose prairie fields, urban murals, sports venues, lakes, forests, or my pop-up studio—whatever fits your dog’s vibe.
-
I only photograph your dog and do not take commissions on human-animal photoshoots. For returning clients, senior stories, or special events, I might make an exception.
-
A proof gallery hits your inbox within 14 days. Pick your favorites, then order wall art, albums, or digitals. Final retouched files arrive 1–2 weeks after selections. Print items may take longer depending on the printer’s schedule.
-
Yes. A five-image starter set comes optimized for social media, and you can print up to 5×7. Larger bundles are available, though most clients pair files with heirloom prints. Each print comes with the digital file. I do not provide high-resolution image files.
-
We reschedule at no fee—or move indoors—because prairie weather writes its own script. I will still shoot in rain or snow, as long as conditions are safe.
-
Yes! You get your artwork after your payments are complete.
